About Priya Vijayan
Priya graduated from James Cook University with a Masters in Guidance and Counselling and a Masters in General Education and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Work.
Priya has over 10 years of experience working with children, youths, adults and families in the social work and counselling field in Singapore. She gained her experience in a few Family Service Centres (MSF) where she worked with clients displaying a variety of issues including domestic violence, abuse, trauma, mental health issues, marital issues, family issues, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, attachment issues, parenting difficulties and grief and loss.
She has worked with many systems in Singapore such as MSF, Family Justice Courts, hospitals, HDB and the legal systems to advocate for her clients in her course of work in the social work and counselling field.
Prior to her experience in the social work and counselling field, Priya was an early childhood educator in an international school where she has experience working with the expatriate community.
Priya is passionate about trauma work as her modalities include EMDR, Hypnotherapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with both children and adults. She is also experienced in couple therapy and family work.
Priya is bilingual in English and Tamil. She also offers online counselling.
