About Su Hwei

Su Hwei is a Counseling Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Honours). Before transitioning to psychology, she spent 14 years in the corporate sector, bringing a wealth of life experience and understanding of the challenges faced in high-pressure environments. This unique background allows her to connect deeply with clients, particularly those navigating stress, career transitions, and work-life balance issues.

With extensive experience working with diverse populations, Su Hwei is skilled in conducting psychological assessments, delivering therapeutic interventions, and providing both individual and group therapy. She has served in various settings, including universities, clinics, and community centers, helping clients manage a wide range of psychological challenges.

Her areas of expertise include working with adults, children, adolescents, and couples, with a particular focus on anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, and relationship issues. She conducts sessions in both English and Mandarin, enabling her to support a broad spectrum of clients.

Guided by the belief that each individual is unique, Su Hwei adopts a client-centered, warm, and collaborative therapeutic approach. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions. Su Hwei integrates evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop effective coping strategies and achieve their mental health goals. She is also actively pursuing further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to enhance her practice and better serve her clients.

Su Hwei’s mid-career switch from the corporate world to psychology not only demonstrates her passion for helping others but also equips her with the empathy and insight needed to understand and address the complexities of her clients’ lives. Her corporate experience adds a valuable dimension to her therapeutic work, particularly in connecting with clients who face similar professional challenges.
