Claudia is Australian and she moved to Singapore in 2016. She is very dedicated and committed to supporting her clients in their journey of healing and growth in the best way she can. Claudia specialises in childhood trauma, adult emotional trauma, and couple therapy. She focuses her attention on client progress and she uses the most efficient strategies and approaches according to each client’s needs and therapy goals. She likes to monitor progress, achieve the therapy goals set by her clients, and set new therapy goals if need be. While she measures her success in client progress, she equally focuses on creating a safe, gentle therapeutic space, where clients feel safe and empowered to share their thoughts, experiences, and feelings..
Some of her clients see her for particular problems for just a few sessions here and there, while other clients see her on a regular basis for years. Claudia can provide psychotherapy in English, French, Romanian, and Italian. Claudia is a mother of three and she likes travelling, reading, music, gardening, interior design, tranquil spaces, and painting.
Claudia sees individual clients with a variety of presentations, such as marriage problems, relationship problems, overcoming a breakup, family challenges, childhood trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders (e.g. Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Phobias, Suicidal Ideation), anger management challenges, stress challenges (i.e. feeling stuck, work burnout, relationship or marital pressure/stress), grief, personality disorders (e.g., Narcissistic Personality Disorder – NPD, Borderline Personality Disorder – BPD, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder – OCPD), Sexual Challenges, Nightmares, etc.
Claudia is a registered Clinical Psychologist in Singapore. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with First-Class Honours at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia. She then completed her Master’s in Clinical Psychology at the National University of Singapore. Claudia started working with mental health since 2012, when she volunteered and worked at Lifeline in Australia for three years, offering crisis support to people experiencing all types of life challenges. Once in Singapore, as part of her Master’s curriculum, Claudia provided psychotherapy and psychological services for 18 months across the National University Hospital (NUH), the National University of Singapore’s Clinical and Health Psychology Centre (NUS CHPC), and a private clinic in Singapore.
After graduating from NUS, she worked for a year in a private clinic, before founding Psychology Blossom in 2020. Claudia believes in advancing her professional training to keep up with the most current research and therapy trends, and therefore regularly attends training courses and has regular supervision in the areas in which she specialises. Claudia is a member of the Singapore Psychological Society, the Singapore Register of Psychologists, The Australian Psychological Association and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Claudia is passionate about guiding her individual clients towards achieving and maintaining healthy relationships and lifestyles. Claudia’s initial target is to identify behaviours, habits, and patterns that hinder a person’s self-actualisation. In childhood, within our families of origin and our environments, we establish beliefs and patterns that we are oftentimes unaware of. With this in mind, Claudia seeks to bring about awareness in a gentle and non-judgmental way, safely working with her clients towards achieving their goals and exiting patterns and behaviours that are self-sabotaging.
By using experiential work, Claudia helps her clients experience corrective experiences, whereby childhood memories and interpretations are processed and re-evaluated from an adult perspective. To achieve this, Claudia utilises an eclectic approach, whereby she incorporates techniques from multiple psychological approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), AF-EMDR (Attachment Focused EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Schema Therapy, Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, .
Level 3 Gottman Therapist
Passionate about helping couples improve their relationships, Claudia utilises the most efficient approaches that are supported by research. Her Couples Therapy sessions are very structured and her clients have a say in both the treatment plan that is customised to each couple, and also in the agenda that is set for each session. Claudia draws her therapeutic tools and skills from the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and from the Schema Therapy for Couples when helpful. Claudia completed Levels 1, 2, and 3 of training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and is also trained in Schema Couple Therapy. She attends regular peer supervision sessions with other couples therapists.
During couple therapy sessions (which typically last 80min), both partners have a voice and sufficient space to express themselves. Claudia does not take sides, but strives to help the partners understand each other’s perspectives and empathise with each other.
Most couples come to see Claudia when they would like to address some of the following:
1. challenges before embarking on the journey of marriage,
2. finding themselves blocked in unhealthy interactional patterns,
3. infidelity,
4. deterioration of the relationship quality,
5. needing to decide which direction to go towards as a couple,
6. being stuck on particular recurrent topics where compromise cannot be reached,
7. going through separation/divorce. A romantic at heart, Claudia believes that with guidance and mutual motivation, every couple can improve and rekindle their relationship.
