Helen comes from Hull, England and has been living in Singapore since 2013. She has over 20 years of experience working with youths and parents in both the UK and Singapore, in both local and international school sectors. Helen began her career change into the field of counselling and psychotherapy in 2020.
In her free time, Helen enjoys travelling, reading, listening to music, watching sports, and exploring nature through walking and hiking.
Her area of expertise includes working with clients on various presentations such as Self-esteem and Confidence issues, Depression, Anxiety, School/Work-related stress, Relationship issues, Emotional Regulation, Parent-child management, Youth Issues, Positive emotional well-being, and Life transitions and adjustments.
Helen is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with the University of Roehampton, London (UK), delivered in Singapore by Aventis Graduate School. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Learning & Teaching (Honours) and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy. She has also completed training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
With over 20 years of experience working with youths and parents in both the United Kingdom and Singapore, Helen has been involved in both local and international school sectors. She has also worked as a school counsellor in Singapore at an international school.
Helen believes mental and emotional health are as important as physical health for overall well-being. She is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Helen treats each client as an individual, working together to help them overcome challenges, build self-awareness, and achieve personal growth. Helen uses a range of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), and Psychodynamic Therapy to tailor her approach to each client’s unique needs.
