About

Catherine believes that everyone faces unique challenges in life, but with the right tools, they can overcome obstacles and improve their circumstances. She adopts an approach that is centred on empathy and genuine care, with a strong emphasis on fostering positive change.

Catherine is culturally sensitive when providing counselling to clients as shaped by her diverse international background. Born in Hong Kong and raised in the US, she has lived in San Francisco, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Hong Kong, and Shanghai before settling in Singapore.

Specialisations

Her areas of expertise include working with clients on a variety of presentations such as Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Work Issues, Relationship Issues, Burnout, Imposter Syndrome, Societal Pressure, Perfectionism, Emotional Regulation and Self-confidence Issues. She is also able to provide support for those undergoing cancer treatment, experiencing health challenges and help those going through their menopausal journey.

Qualifications & Experience

Catherine completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management. She then completed a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Counselling. Currently, she has completed level 1 of Gottman’s Couple Therapy and is pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology in Human and Organizational Psychology.
With more than 20 years of global corporate experience, mostly in senior management roles, Catherine has firsthand knowledge of the demands and pressures that come with being an executive, as well as balancing the roles of mother and wife. She is also experienced in working with adults, especially executives, professionals and parents facing complex issues. This makes her highly empathetic and deeply understanding of her clients’ challenges.

Approach to Therapy

Catherine mostly utilises Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with clients, which she complements by incorporating Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) into her therapeutic interventions.
