Valerie, originally from Denmark, has lived in Singapore for the last 8 years. Having had many years of experience working in the Customer Service industry in a managerial position, she was often approached by her team and customers for support regarding professional anxieties and how to manage daily stress. She, therefore, decided that it was time to make the transition into becoming a trained counsellor.

With a Bachelor of Psychology from James Cook University, Singapore and currently working on achieving her Master's in Counselling from Monash University (2022), she would like to break the stigma of seeking help for mental health issues, as she firmly believes that 'It is Okay to not be Okay'. Valerie believes that the client is the expert in their own lives, and aims to empower her clients by encouraging them not to let their issues define them. She provides a warm, empathetic, and judgement-free environment for clients to open up, and guides them into deeper self-understanding on how to manage their struggles.

Valerie regularly attends supervision sessions as a counsellor-in-training to keep up with ethics and the latest trends in psychology. Therapy sessions with her are affordable to make mental health support more accessible. Valerie can help clients in the areas of:

✽   Self-Esteem Issues
✽   Anxiety
✽   Depression
✽   Relationship-Related Issues
✽   Stress-Related Issues (Work and School)
✽   Mindfulness Exercises (Managing Stress and Anxiety)

Valerie is fluent in English and conversant in French and Danish, and enjoys reading books and taking long walks in the many lovely parks around Singapore when not counselling.
