A note on this list: it is written by Psychology Blossom and features our own assessment team. We are not an independent reviewer, so we have stuck to things you can check for yourself: training, the age groups each psychologist assesses, languages, fees and availability. The first half of the page applies to any clinic you are considering.

What makes a psychologist good at ADHD and autism assessment?

A good assessment is more than a questionnaire. Whichever clinic you choose, five things separate a thorough assessment from a quick screen.

The right qualification for diagnosis. In Singapore, ADHD is diagnosed by psychiatrists, paediatricians and clinical psychologists. If you want a formal diagnosis rather than a screening, check that the person signing your report is qualified to give one.

Regular experience with your age group. Assessing a six-year-old and assessing a 35-year-old are different skills. Children need play-based observation and teacher input. Adults need a careful lifetime history, and often a look at whether earlier diagnoses such as anxiety or depression were the whole story.

Standardised tools, not just an interview. For autism, the ADOS-2 and ADI-R are the widely used standards. For ADHD, a good assessment combines rating scales from more than one source with objective testing such as a Continuous Performance Test.

A written report you can use. You should come away with a report that explains the findings in plain language and gives practical recommendations for school, work and treatment.

A feedback session. A psychologist should sit down with you to walk through the results and answer questions, not just email a PDF.

How much does an ADHD or autism assessment cost in Singapore?

At Psychology Blossom, adult ADHD assessment starts from S$1,150, child and teen ADHD assessment from S$2,200, autism assessment from S$2,200 and IQ assessment from S$700. We do not charge GST. The fee covers the clinical interview, standardised testing, report writing and the feedback session.

Children's assessments cost more because they involve more sessions, parent and teacher input, and observation across settings. For a full breakdown, including what drives the price up or down at other clinics, see our ADHD assessment cost guide.

What happens during an assessment at Psychology Blossom?

Most assessments follow three stages over two to four weeks.

Week 1, intake. A clinical interview covering development, school or work history, family history and current difficulties. You or your child's teachers complete questionnaires at home.

Weeks 2 to 3, testing. One to three testing sessions using standardised tools. For ADHD, this includes rating scales such as the Conners and ASRS and objective attention testing. For autism, it includes the ADOS-2 and a developmental history.

Week 4, report and feedback. Your psychologist writes the report and walks you through it in a feedback session, including recommendations for school, work and next steps.

Full details are on our ADHD assessment and autism assessment pages.

How did we put this list together?

We included every psychologist at Psychology Blossom who currently leads ADHD or autism assessments, based on their published training and the assessments they conduct. We grouped them by age group and need instead of ranking them, because a 1 to 10 ranking of colleagues would not help you choose. Fees and availability are as listed on our team page in October 2026 and may change.

Frequently asked questions

Who can diagnose ADHD in Singapore?

Psychiatrists, paediatricians and clinical psychologists can diagnose ADHD in Singapore. Only medical doctors can prescribe medication, so if medication is likely to be part of the plan, your psychologist can share the report with a psychiatrist or GP.

Can adults be assessed for ADHD or autism?

Yes. Many adults in Singapore are assessed for the first time in their twenties, thirties or later, often after a child is diagnosed or after years of being treated for anxiety or depression. Our adult ADHD diagnosis guide explains what is different about adult assessment.

Do I need a referral for an assessment?

No. You can book an assessment directly with Psychology Blossom without a GP or school referral.

How long is the wait for an assessment?

Private assessments usually start within a few weeks. The full process at Psychology Blossom typically takes two to four weeks from intake to feedback, depending on availability. Public services often have longer waits.

Is autism missed more often in girls and women?

Often, yes. Autism in girls and women can look different from the common stereotypes, so it is frequently identified later. Our article on autism in girls and women explains why.

Can I meet the psychologist before booking an assessment?

Yes. You can book a free 15-minute consultation to ask questions and check the fit before committing to a full assessment.
